Pump N' RunPump N’ Run Event Description: A unique combination of weight lifting and running, offered to all racers. Participants will have the exact same running experience as standard registrants, but compete for additional awards! Participants bench press a percentage of their body weight, based upon an Age and Gender handicap, and earn a 30-second time reduction for each bench press repetition (5K and 10K), or a 2 minute time reduction (Half and Full Marathon). The 5K and 10K participants use the same weight lifting formula as other Pump N’ Run’s around the country, but the Half and Full participants will use a different formula, producing a lighter lift-weight. Many awards are offered, including Net Run Time Awards (i.e. Actual Run-time less handicap), as well as Strength Awards which aren’t related to a person’s run time at all! 2-Person Team competitions offered at no extra charge! Pump N’ Run Event Individual Registration: Two registrations are required! First register online on this Flying PIG web site for the race you desire to run, then go to www.pumpandrunrace.com, and register for the Pump N’ Run option for that same race. If you register for the 5K Run then register for Pump N’ Run 5K option... if you register for the Half Marathon, then register for the Pump N’ Run Half Marathon option, etc.

Pump N’ Run 2-Person Team Registration: You can register for a 2-Person Team (2-Male, 2-Female or COED) at no extra charge, and compete for two award categories: “Fastest Team” (both net run times added together) and “Strongest Team” (both bench press totals added together). To register, fill out the Team Form at www.pumpandrunrace.com.

Non-Running Cross Training Events offered too! For those of you with running injuries, or who have friends who simply don’t like to run, there will be non-running cross training events at the same time and place. A wide variety of separate female and male competitions are as follows:
  • Pump N’ Curl Challenge: A Hi-Rep Bench Press and Curl Competition
  • Pump Curl N’ Row: A Bench Press, Curl and Indoor Rowing Competition
  • The Gauntlet: Bench Press, Curl, Indoor Rowing and a Cardio Circuit Challenge
  • Team COED Rowing: 3 to 5 team mates hop on and off an Indoor Rower at will, until they finish rowing a 3K distance!
